About Eman........
Most people here in the UK know Eman Zaki as the best bellydance costume designer in Egypt. But Eman used to be a
dancer and recently started to teach. Her mother, Samira Zad, was a dancer in Cairo from 1946-1955 and taught Eman to
dance, insisting that she learn ballet, tap and jazz dance too. Eman started her career in Syria in 1977, performing in
Jordan, the Emirates, USA, Lebanon, Cairo, Tunisia and Germany. As Eman was abroad a lot of the time she was forced
to start making her own costumes. Eman stopped dancing in 1989 but continued to make costumes. She travelled to
Lebanon to learn tailoring and embroidery and founded Golden Lotus in 1999. Ten years on her business is truly
international and continues to go from strength to strength. Her French clients call her the Coco Chanel of Bellydance. In
2009, after the terrific response to her teaching by some UK dancers visiting Cairo, Eman was invited to the UK to teach
her moves! Eman taught up north and at Bellydance Congress last year, but these are her first London workshops.
About Sara........
Described by Fifi Abdou as an excellent dancer, Sara has lived and worked in Egypt for the last 10 years. A qualified
dance teacher, she began studying Egyptian dance in 1980 and has 25 years teaching experience. She has worked as a
choreographer, actress and director in TV, Film and Theatre. Sara is an inspirational teacher and dancer and takes quite a
different approach to most teachers. She’s renowned for her interpretation of the music, dancing with emotion, how to
approach choreography, and doesn’t just focus on technique or rigid choreographies. Sara comes to London once a year.
Don’t miss these only London dates!!
