SCHOOL OF ARTS & HUMANITIES
Theatre Arts A.S.
SOME LOVE TO BE ON STAGE. SOME LOVE TO SET THE STAGE. The theatre arts degree program lets
you create drama on-stage or behind the scenes. MCC theatre arts students can experience the excitement
of theatrical performance or the artistic satisfaction of technical theatre and stage craft. Either way, you’ll
have many opportunities to bring your talents center stage—including musical, comedy and dramatic productions, to children's theatre and summer Shakespeare.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This program provides a strong foundation for transferring to a four-year
theatrical performance or technical theatre program. In addition to liberal arts
coursework, you will take electives and workshops in theatrical performance
or technical theatre—including analyzing scripts, acting techniques, and the
technical aspects of theatrical productions. Throughout the year you’ll produce and
perform plays and musicals for a public audience.
“Theatre brought me
out of my shell...I
knew with our first
performance workshop that I was
hooked!”
- Erika A., MCC student
