CALL FOR PAPERS Special Session on Hybrid Intelligent Systems Under the framework of the 10th International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing ICGEC-2016: Aim and Scope In the last decade, the new discipline of Soft Computing emerged and promised to overcome some of the limitations of traditional Artificial Intelligence systems. Hybrid of intelligent systems is a promising research area of computational intelligence focusing on hybrid approaches to solve real world problems and develop the next generation of novel intelligent systems. Evolutionary Algorithms, Fuzzy Logic, Neural Networks, and more, have been used to realize artificial systems able to perform typical human tasks. The current research trend is to exploit Soft Computing techniques to model and emulate the main human capability and creativity. The aim of this session is to increase the awareness of the research along scientists of the hybrid intelligent systems. Researchers from all over the world are inviting to present their results and discuss current and new trends in the field of hybrid intelligent systems. This special session focuses on theory, methodology and practice of developing and evaluating intelligent systems in a broad and diverse range of application domains for interested authors. Topics of interest Original contributions, not currently under review to another journal or conference, are solicited in relevant areas including, but not limited to: Computational intelligence techniques (Neural computing, Fuzzy logic, Swarm intelligence, Evolutionary algorithms, Agentbased methods, etc.) Hybridization of Soft Computing with other Machine Learning techniques, Support Vector Machines, Rough Sets, Bayesian Networks, Probabilistic Reasoning, Statistical Learning Hybrid Intelligent Systems in real world complex problems, involving imprecision, uncertainty, vagueness and high dimensionality Applications of computational intelligence Integration with Information Systems for data mining, knowledge management, decision support Hybrid models using case-based reasoning, inductive logic programming, grammatical inference Smart spaces and sensor-based monitoring systems using intelligent sensors and smart objects including the Internet-of-Things and Cloud-of-Things Performance assessment of hybrid systems Paper Submission and Publication All submitted papers will be blindly refereed by at least two reviewers for quality, correctness, originality, and relevance, for more detailed visit http://bit.kuas.edu.tw/~icgec16/. Manuscripts should be provided according to the author guidelines given at the link http://www.springer.com/series/11156 where you can find the necessary styles and information. The template for ICGEC 2016 follows the same template for the book series: (LaTeX) llncs2e.zip, typeinst.zip, and (MS-Word) splnproc1110.zip, word.zip. The paper length is 6-8 pages for the regular paper. ICGEC-2016 conference proceedings will be published in the book series entitled "Genetic and Evolutionary Computing" by Springer, which is on the EI index list. Normally, papers published in this book series will be indexed by EI when the paper quality fits the requirement and the publishing procedures (including the oral presentation) are completed.
