Puppet Show
The stage:
Tent in one corner angled towards the audience. In
opposite corner is table were the stage for the puppet is located. In middle
of the room there is (starting from the wall and moving out towards the
audience) a bush, a fire ring, in front of the fire ring towards the puppet a
small patch of flowers.
Puppet: Tells audience the story of
the bad hiker
 No map or compass
 No bear bag
 Camp is to close to water
* Hiker exits tent…. Very hungry, has granola bar throws wrapper on to the
ground and freezes.

Puppet: Explains why throwing garbage on the
floor is bad
*Hiker has to go to the bathroom… looks around and walks to bush… squats down

Behind the bush is a bottle of water. It is pored into a pan and sounds like
someone going to the bathroom

Puppet:
 Explains correct way to go to the bathroom
 Uses flip chart
 Diagram of cat hole
 Carry out used toilet paper
*Hiker: Leaves bush and begins to loudly sing song.
Stops singing when notices a flower…
Picks and smells flower

Puppet:
 Singing in woods… disrespectful to other
people in forest
 Picking flowers is bad… if everyone
picked one there would be none left
*Hiker:
starts to build fire in fire ring
then sees puppet and tries to feed the animal

Puppet:

Talks about impacts of fire
Talks about feeding animal
Convince audience that they can help hiker to be a good
hiker
Day Rewinds
Same progress all over but hiker is aware of audience and animal and
they help him to do things right









Exit tent
Audience gives hiker maps and compass
Discusses where the tent was set up
Does not throw garbage on the ground
Goes to bathroom but the audience explains cat hole
Wants to sing a song but audience explains why no to
Goes to pick flower…. Takes picture instead
Asks about building fire but uses fire blanket with audiences help
Asks the puppet if it would like some food
