Children often injure muscles and while running, playing, climbing, or
during sports activates
A sprain occurs when ligaments (the band of tissue that hold the bones
together) are stretched or torn
Joint pain can be caused by many different types of injuries or conditions.
No matter what causes it joint pain can be very irritating
Injuries to joints and muscles often occur together and sometimes it is
difficult to tell whether the primary injury is to a joint or the muscles,
tendons, blood vessels, or nerves near the joint
Many times minor sprains and strains can be treated at home. At other
times, a proper medical evaluation and treatment is needed.
What is a joint dislocation?
A dislocation occurs when the bones that are usually connected at a
joint separation. It is possible to dislocate a variety of different joints in a
body.
What is the difference between a sprain and a strain?
A sprain is an injury to a ligament. A strain is a injury either to a muscle
or tendon.
Sprain- Pain, swelling, bruising, limited ability to move the affected
area, you may feel a “pop”
in your joint
Strain- pain, swelling, muscle spasms, limited ability to move the
affected area
What are the first aid procedures for a sprain or strain?
Treatment for sprains, strains and sport injury and the damage. Selfcare may be all that is necessary. Some injuries need help from a
doctor.

strains? Don’t use heat, use only ice, walk on it, don’t rotate it

What is a muscle cramp?
Cramps are unpleasant, often painful sensations caused by muscle
contraction

A gentle massage of the affected area will help relieve the pain, drink
lots of fluids and eat salty foods

Stay still and not stretch, also not taking vitamins
