The Woods
The woods or forest can be found all over the world. The woods are home to many different species of animals and
plant life.
There are many animals that live in the woods. Small animals eat fruit, mushrooms, and insects. Animals such as
squirrels jump from tree to tree in search of food. Larger animals see smaller animals as their prey. Other animals are
herbivores and only eat seeds and other plant life.
Many different types of trees and plant life live in the woods. The trees lose their leaves in the autumn, which helps the
water on the floor of the woods. The soil that provides nutrients to the roots of the trees is made up fallen leaves,
animals that have died and soil. Dead plant and animals break down adding much needed nutrients to the soil.
The woods can be a very enjoyable place for the young and the old. It provides peace and quiet for the person who
wants to enjoy the true sights and sounds of the woods.
