William Fulbright introduced legislation to start a new international educational exchange program with an ambitious goal – to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright Program now operates in 155 countries, and has supported over 300,000 students and scholars. Award 7470 Postdoctoral Research Award in Preventive Health at Concordia University: US$50,000 Located in the heart of Montréal, Concordia University is a dynamic, forward-looking comprehensive university. Currently Québec's fourth-largest university in student numbers, Concordia has one of the most culturally diverse graduate and undergraduate student populations in Canada, with more than 43,000 students, including more than 7,400 at the graduate level. The PERFORM Centre brings researchers, students, and the community together in a state-of-the-art clinical research facility to create a highly integrated and comprehensive environment that promotes healthy living. Research at PERFORM focuses on how to best manage injury, chronic disease, and quality of life by making changes in lifestyle and behaviour. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in cultivating interdisciplinary research that fosters links between exercise, nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle in an effort to improve health across the population. Preferred candidates are recent graduates undertaking original research, publishing research findings, developing and expanding personal research networks, and preparing for research-intensive careers within and beyond academia. Specialization: Nutrition, health economics, big data management, health and disease prevention in stressful work environments, public health policy and knowledge transfer, decision-making and motivation, impacts on health and lifestyle choices. Apply for Award 7470 General Eligibility Requirements American Citizenship. PhD or terminal health professional degree conferred within 3yrs. If a health professional has engaged in post-degree non-research related clinical training (e.g. residency), the eligibility window can be extended by the duration of training to a maximum of 2 years. Must complete PhD prior to undertaking grant activities. Concordia University is an English speaking institution, however, some resource material may be in French. French is not required but would be an asset.
