Project overview:
 The fans are generally available with speed control; depending
on the requirement the speed is set. Usually, when the
temperature is high the fan set at high speed and at lower
temperatures the fan is operated with lower speed. This is done
manually using human.
 In this project, an automatic control solution is suggested to
control the fan speed.

MICROCONTROLLER USED AT89S51
 The AT89S51 is a low-power, high-performance CMOS 8-bit
microcontroller with 4K bytes of In-System Programmable
Flash memory.
 The device is manufactured using Atmel’s high-density
nonvolatile memory technology and is compatible with the
industry-standard 80C51 instruction set and pinout.

BLDC Fan
 Brushless DC electric motor (BLDC motors, BL motors)
also known as electronically commutated motors .
 Brushless DC fans are usually available at three nominal
voltages: 12V, 24V and 48V. If the system has regulated
power supply in one of these, then a brushless DC fan
may be selected which will give the exact performance
required, regardless of the AC input variables which
plague AC fans.

Potentiometer
A potentiometer, informally a pot, is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding
or rotating contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider.
Potentiometers consist of a resistive element, a sliding contact
(wiper) that moves along the element, making good electrical
contact with one part of it, electrical terminals at each end of the
element, a mechanism that moves the wiper from one end to the
other, and a housing containing the element and wiper.
The potentiometer available are of multiple ranges, in this project
the potentiometer used is an 10KΩ
It is used to control the brightness of the LCD by connecting it at V0

NTC Thermistor
 Thermistors are temperature-sensing elements made of
semiconductor material that has been sintered in order to
display large changes in resistance in proportion to small
changes in temperature.
 This resistance can be measured by using a small and
measured direct current, or dc, passed through the thermistor
in order to measure the voltage drop produced.

Software used:
 Microcontrollers mostly use different software's from compiling
code or to creating a ‘hex file’ till making its PCB( Printed Circuit
Board ).
 Integrated Development Environment (IDE) - contains a text
editor for writing code, a graphic window (Serial Monitor), a text
console, a toolbar with buttons for compiling the code.
 We used keil uVision5 IDE software for concern project.

Working:
 A circuit with NTC temperature sensor, AT89S51 microcontroller,
brush less DC motor and few of electronic components is designed
and implemented to control the fan speed automatically.

Conclusion:
The temperature is high the fan set at high speed and at lower
temperatures the fan is operated with lower speed. This is done
automatically.
