The Technical Director will discuss technical requirements with all user groups and recommend staffing
levels to provide appropriate service and safety. One technician for up to 5 hours is included with the
theatre rental. All other staffing costs are the sole responsibility of the user group.
The user group must communicate their technical requirements and provide a detailed production
schedule for their event at least 2 weeks in advance of the event, in order to determine appropriate crew
requirements. Final determination of technical staffing will be at the discretion of the Centre for the
Performing Arts.
The renter is responsible for the cost of restoring the venue to its pre-rental condition. This includes the
removal of all scenery, props, costumes, repainting of altered surfaces, and restoration of house lighting
and sound plots.
For all public performances and rehearsals, a Production Technician will be assigned. The Production
Technician will assist with the setup of on-deck equipment, set the stage draperies or other flown goods,
and supervise the onstage and backstage areas during performance. The Production Technician may also
run the basic house lighting system from the onstage control station, perform up to 5 fly cues during
performance, and will assist other technicians as required. The Production Technician is responsible for
ensuring compliance with all safety and fire regulations.
Events requiring more than the basic house lighting setup, access to the theatre sound system, or with
