Day 5 Subduction Trenches
Objective: Students will graph earthquake foci along a Subduction plate boundary.
Bell ringer: What is a Subduction boundary? What natural feature do they create?
Draw Subduction zone (page 100 blue book) They tend to create deep ocean trenches.
Show flash animation

Students look at pages 99 and 100 in blue book. Discuss foci and Subduction.
Hand out Subduction zone trench lab.
Students complete lab and answer questions.
Answer questions with class.
Closure.
