Caste System
Social Class that a person is
born into by birth.
Karma
Consequences because of
actions.
Reincarnation Rebirth of a soul in another
body.
Monotheistic Belief in ONE god.
Polytheistic
Belief in MORE than one god.



Christianity: Founded by Jesus Christ. Based
on the teachings of Jesus. Only worship God.
Judaism: Religion of the Jewish people. They
have 3 main ideas( God, Torah, and Israel).
Founded by Abraham.
Hinduism: India’s first major religion.
Brahman is their god. There was no specific
founder.


Islam: Religion of the Muslims. Allah is their
god. No specific founder, but was spread by
Muhammad.
Buddhism: Buddha is God. It was founded by
Siddartha Gauntama ( Buddha).





There are 3 types of Monotheistic religions.
They are Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
They are all Monotheistic because they all
have a belief in one god.
Christianity’s god is God.
Islam’s god is Allah.
Judaism’s god is Yahweh.




There are two Polytheistic religions. They are
Hinduism and Buddhism.
They are polytheistic because they both believe
in more than one god.
Hinduism: Their god is Brahman, but they
worship other spiritual figures and other gods
too.
Buddhism: Their god is Buddha, but like the
Hinduism religion they worship other spiritual
figures and other gods.



Buddhism: Founded in northern India and
spread through out Asia.
Hinduism: Started in the Indus Valley, spread
through out the rest of India, and into a
few other countries like Indonesia, where the
island of Bali is Hindu.
Christianity: Christianity started in present day
Israel and spread through Middle East,
Babylon to India, North Africa( Roman
Empire).



Islam: Was spread by Muhammad; through
out the Arabian peninsula and began to spread
north toward Syria.
Judaism: It began in Israel like Christianity but
spread through out many parts of the world.
The location of a religion impacts the people
because it changes their beliefs and customs if
most of the people in that place
worship/believe in a specific religion.
