1a. Students’ answers should include the following:
 Assess for drug allergies and drug interactions.
 Ask about cardiac problems, glaucoma, and urinary retention.
 Identify all current medications, including over-the-counter and herbal.
 Assess work expectations: What are the on-the-job risks?
1b. Students’ answers should include the following:
 Mr. Smith should be cautioned against driving or working on the job site until he is aware
of how the cyclobenzaprine will affect him.
 Take with a full glass of water.
 Physical therapy and compresses should be coordinated with the intake of the drug.
 Caution the patient against drinking alcohol.
 Teach him to change positions slowly.
