Movements & Range of Motion
Humeroulnar joint
Radioulnar Joint
Flexion: 150°
Supination: 90° from neutral position
Extension (hyperextension): 10°
Pronation: 90° from neutral position
Movements of the Elbow & Radioulnar Joints
Flexion - movement of the forearm to the shoulder by
bending the elbow to decrease its angle
Extension - movement of the forearm away from the
shoulder by straightening the elbow to increase its angle
Supination - external rotary movement of the radius
on the ulna that results in the hand moving from the
palm-down to the palm-up position
Pronation - internal rotary movement of the radius on
the ulna that results in the hand moving from the palmup to the palm-down position
Myotome & Cutaneous Distribution of Axillary & Musculocutaneous Nerves
Elbow Deviations
a. Normal Cubitus: 0° - 15° (Carrying Angle) Anatomical position
b. Cubitus Varus: Forearm ________________ deviation
c. Cubitus Valgus: Forearm ________________ deviation
d. Cubitus Recurvatum: Forearm ________________ deviation
