BELIEF IN ACTION (IBADAH)
Muslim belief about God
Family life
 Allah is the Islamic name for the one true God.
 Muslims respect and appreciate
everything that Allah created.
 Allah is the creator and provides all things.
 Muslims give thanks for Allah's creation.
 Allah sent messengers and books to give His
guidance:
 Muslims worship Allah.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh);
 the Qur'an.

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
(THE UMMAH)
Ramadan :
 the month in which the Qur'an was
revealed;
 fasting;
 breaking fast together;
 reciting the Qur'an.
 The birth of a child as a blessing
(blessings/barakah).
 The naming of a child:
 names are usually selected
because they have a good
meaning;
 practices associated with the birth
and naming of a child.
The Qur'an in people's lives
 Children learning the Qur'an.
Id ul Fitr:
 celebration of the successful
completion of Ramadan.
 Following the teaching of the Qur'an,
e.g. showing respect to others, being
honest & kind, keeping your temper).
The Qur'an:
 is treated with respect.
 Following instructions, e.g. halal food.

Id ul Adha
 Establishing the first Muslim community
and the Muslim Calendar.
 Fasting.
 Celebration at the end of the Hajj.
 Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was chosen
by Allah.
 Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the final
Messenger from Allah.
 Belief in Allah.
 Belief in Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as
the final Messenger.
 Prayer to Allah by daily salat.
 Respect for all creation.
