The benefits from ancient Inca civilization MACA 1. Introduction MACA(Latin name:Lepidium meyenii Walp )is indigenous of Peru, which belongs to Brassicaceae as same as Broccoli and Radish, is cultivating or growing at the BonBon land which is high altitude (about 3000-4000m) of Andes region of Bolivia-Chile in South America. It is said that the cultivation of MACA was started by the Inca’s native 2000 years ago. The raw or dried hypocotyls of MACA are used for food by Peruvian people for the purpose of nutrition. There is the record of colony of 200 years ago that MACA was used for the purpose of increasing breeding capability of livestock.
