Technical and administrative support for the
joint implementation of the Marine Strategy
Framework Directive (MSFD) in Bulgaria and
Romania (phase I)
Aim of the phase I of the project – support both MS
to set up the common monitoring programme in
the Black Sea marine region (art.6)
Outcomes of the project :





common indicators, GES and environmental
targets
monitoring fact sheets
developing of joint work plan
maintaining the information exchange
platform
developing a public web page


Updated programme of monitoring:
- 11 programme for each descriptor,
- subprogramme
Improvements
 Increasing the number of sampling stations in marine waters
 Review of methodological requirements to set up the GES values for all
descriptors
 Increasing the number of biological elements studied which compose the
web food (macroalgae, zooplankton, non-commercial fish, dolphins
population, sea birds)
 Collecting samples of marine litter
 Initiation of monitoring of energy and noise that affect the structure of the
marine ecosystem



