Marketing and Commercial Assistant – Recruitment brief Job title: Marketing & Commercial Assistant Responsible to: Marketing Director Salary: £19-20k Key relationships: HQ Marketing & Commercial In Country sales organisation Country Manager Customer Services Finance Distributors KOLs Ophthalmic societies and organisations External agencies, third parties The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality and timely marketing and administrative support to the HQ Marketing/Commercial team: Marketing 75%, Commercial 25%. Initially based in our office in Hove, during 2015/16 we will be moving to our new purpose built Global Headquarters in Worthing. This will be a busy and demanding role but you will be joining a dynamic and highly specialised Marketing team in a profitable company with tangible growth potential, including internationally. Key responsibilities: Provision of full administrative service to the Marketing and Commercial department such as organisation of in-house and off-site meetings, plus attendance at meetings when required Inter-department communication and diary co-ordination Purchase request, purchase order administration and budget tracking, in liaison with Finance, to provide monthly updates to marketing team Marketing & Database management: o Co-ordinate direct mail initiatives (planning, mail merge and individual letters, printing, checking, signing and packaging) o Draft newsletter as required in conjunction with the Marketing Communication Executive Exhibitions and events management Internet and Email Marketing Literature and give-aways: o Monitor literature and give-aways stock levels o Prepare literature packs and samples as required, handle deliveries, checking accuracy and quality of goods, coordinate the distribution of materials between offices and storage o Contribute ideas for new campaigns and supporting literature Contribute to preparation of sales reports Support Receptionist team during holidays Skills and Experience: Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing Minimum 12 months experience as Marketing Co-Ordinator or similar Desirable: Experience working in an international company Additional languages and advantage but not a specific requirement Personal skills: Good time management and planning skills Good interpersonal and presentation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential Able to meet multiple project deadlines and demonstrate good attention to detail Experience in communicating multi-culturally Able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the customer Able to work individually as well as part of a team Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision Flexible ‘can-do’ attitude needed to thrive in a rapidly growing and changing company January 2015 – Rayner IOL
