While instillation of drop patient
must look upwards and superior
eyelid rise but inferior eyelid is
pulled down by a finger. In posterior
fornix of conjunctiva drop is instilled
by pipette.
While laying eye ointment it is
proposed to look upwards and pull
eyelid down with finger. With special
glass stick a piece of ointment is laid
in posterior fornix of conjunctiva.
Essential rule: to skip contagion
pipette or tube with ointment mustn’t
touch eye of the patient.
