Circulatory and Respiratory Systems Circulatory System • 2 functions 1. Blood delivers nutrients (food) and oxygen to cells so they can function. 2. Blood removes waste products, like carbon dioxide, from cells. Blood with CO2 exits the right side of the heart 2. Blood enters lungs, drops off CO2, and picks up oxygen 3. Blood returns to the left side of the heart 4.
