Sagittarius – The Archer
This is the 4th chapter is the book of the Zodiac. It is the last chapter in the first book.
Sagittarius is a centaur (two natured) and he is an archer.
In Akkadian this constellation is called Nun-ki and it means, “The Prince of the Earth.”
In the constellation Virgo the Centaur was in the process of freely giving up his life but
here we see him as the victorious one, the risen and conquering king. He comes as an archer
ready to destroy Satan. His bow is drawn and the arrow is pointing at the heart of Scorpio, the
star Antares.
Psalm 21:12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make
ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
Psalm 45:5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies.
Rev. 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a
crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
The brightest star in the constellation Sagittarius is Naim, which in Hebrew means, “The
Gracious One.”
Psalm 45:2 Grace is poured into Thy lips; therefore God hath blessed Thee forever.
Lyra – The Harp (1st Decan)
Lyra means “The Harp” or “Lyre” meaning “Praise for the Conqueror”
Lyra has an eagle at the top raising it up. Ps. 65:1 Praise is awaiting you, O God in Zion.
The star Shelyuk means The Eagle and another star Sulaphat meaning ascending as in
praise. The eagle is the natural enemy of the serpent. As we send our praises into the heavens
we are releasing the natural enemy of the serpent.
A bright star in this constellation is Vega which means, “He Shall Be Exalted.”
Song of Moses says in Exodus 15:1: I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed
gloriously. We are to exalt and praise his holy name.
Ara – The Altar (2nd Decan)
The second decan is an altar. It lies very low on the southern horizon and is turned
ominously downward. It is no longer seen from the northern hemisphere.
Ara mean “Consuming Fire Prepared for His Enemies” It is an altar or burning pyre
turned upside down with fire pouring into the lower regions called Tartarus or outer darkness.
This constellation depicts the place he has prepared for the defeated Satan.
We have the choice to take up the harp “Lyra” and sing the praises of our savior or we
have a choice to join with the spirit of Satan and be burned in the fire prepared for him.
Draco – The Dragon (3rd Decan)
In the last chapter we saw Hercules with his foot on the head of Draco – the Dragon.
Rev. 12:9-11 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were
cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now is come salvation, and
strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of the
brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame
him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lived
until the death.
He is seen as a fierce winding serpent but he is firmly crushed under the foot of Hercules
who is a symbol of the victorious Christ.
In Greek Drakon means “Trodden Down”.
The first gospel in Genesis 3:15 says, “and I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his
heel.”
The brightest star in this constellation is called Thuban and it is located in the second
coil from the tip of the tail. It means “The Subtle” We are also told in Genesis that the serpent
was more subtle than any of the beasts of the field. I understand that Thuban was the North
Star 4,700 years ago, but because of the precession of the equinoxes the pole has shifted to
Polaris. Satan his lost his preeminence!!
Satan is a subtle deceiver. He tries to deceive us in any way he can to lead us away from
faith in Jesus.
The second brightest star in this constellation is located in the serpent’s head and is
named Rastaban which means, “The Head of the Subtle” or “The Head of the Serpent”. The
third brightest star in the constellation is Ethanin which in Hebrew means, “The Long Serpent”
or the “Dragon”
Think of the sky as the dome of the Sistine Chapel. God is the artist who painted his
story for the entire world to see. The dome of the Sistine Chapel has recently been going
through a restoration and cleansing process so that the frescos can be seen clearly once again.
God is cleaning the dome of the sky so that we can once again see the paintings he has placed
in the heavens so that we can see his story clearly once again. It is a confirmation of the word
of God. Just as the years of soot and grime had built up in the Sistine Chapel astrology has
dirtied the heavens with soot and grime.
First Book of the Zodiac
Chapter 1:
Virgo – The Virgin – Mary and the Birth of Christ
Coma – The Desired – Jesus, The Desired One
Centaurus – The Centaur (two natured one) – Jesus is the two natured one. He was
both man and God. He is pictured here with a spear slaying Lupus (The Victim, seen in
the next chapter). Jesus is both characters. He laid down his life for us.
Bootes – The Coming One – Jesus will one day come again.
Chapter 2:
Libra – The Scales – We are weighed in the balances and are not able to pay the price for our
redemption, but Jesus paid the price for us.
Crux – The Southern Cross – Located under the Centaur - Visible from the northern
hemisphere until about the time of Jesus’ crucifixion.
Lupus – The Victim – A lamb that is being slain by the Centaur from the first chapter. He
is the lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.
Corona – The Crown – Jesus is our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We see the serpent
in chapter 3 trying to reach the crown but being restrained by Ophiuchus (another
image of Christ)
Chapter 3:
Scorpio – The Scorpion – A type of Satan. We see Ophiuchus with his foot on Scorpio’s head.
Ophiuchus – The Serpent Holder – A type of Christ who is restraining the serpent who is
trying to reach the crown in Chapter 2.
Serpens – The Serpent – Another type of Satan
Hercules – The Mighty One – Jesus is again the victor in this chapter. He is the Mighty
One and his foot is on the head of Draco which we will see in the last chapter of this
book.
Chapter 4:
Sagittarius – The Archer – This is another Centaur but this time he is not slaying himself, but he
is depicted as victorious. He has his bow drawn with his arrow pointing at Antares, the star at
the heart of Scorpio.
Lyra – The Harp – Meaning Praise for the Conqueror and it is being lifted up with an
eagle at the top. The Eagle is the natural enemy of the serpent.
Ara – The Altar – Meaning Consuming Fire Prepared for His Enemies – No longer visible
from the northern hemisphere. The altar is pointing downward with the flames going in
to the regions beyond.
Draco – The Dragon – Another type of Satan. We end with him here and we see
Hercules with his foot on his head. The Dragon is defeated just as we are told in Rev.
12:9-11.
There are 3 books in the Zodiac and each one ends with Christ as the victor over Satan. The
ultimate ending is the final destruction of Satan by Christ.
