New Year, New Excitement at KPVU!!
KPVU is pleased to announce the addition of two new, exciting public
affairs shows to help kickoff its public radio programming for 2014!!
The “Outlook on Agriculture” debuted on Thursday, January 2 and delves
into the vast and innovative services within Prairie View A&M University’s
College of Agriculture and Human Sciences (CAHS). The show will also
provide national trends within the agriculture industry and celebrate the
richness of the University’s nearly 140-year heritage and tradition of
Agriculture at Prairie View. Outlook is administered/hosted by LaRachelle
Smith, director of Marketing, Development, Planning, Communications and Information Technology at
CAHS and comes your way on Thursday mornings at 9 on KPVU.
“What’s New Today, with the UMA?” is making its debut on KPVU and focuses on the University’s
Undergraduate Medical Academy, affectionately known as UMA.
The UMA was established in 2004 and will celebrate 10 years of existence at Prairie View this year. The
show will comprise of students enrolled in the Academy working with key UMA administrators to bring
you the latest in medical news and tips to help the KPVU listeners address various health issues. “What’s
New Today, with the UMA?” takes to the KPVU public affairs airwaves on Friday, January 24 at 9am.
“Outlook on Agriculture” and “What’s New Today, with the UMA?” are welcome additions to the KPVU
programming and align with the station’s mission of Educating, Entertaining, Enlightening, and
Empowering the masses. Below is a listing of the other scheduled KPVU public affairs shows proposed for
the new year and additional programming information can be found at pvamu.edu/kpvu. Stay tuned to
KPVU 91.3FM for new and exciting programming and services designed with you in mind for 2014!!

The Church and Community in Action: Sundays 2:00PM
The State of the University: 1st Monday of the Month at 9AM with a rebroadcast, the following Saturday at 9AM.
Sports on the Hill: Monday at 9:30AM
Latinos on the Hill: Tuesday from 9:00AM until 9:30AM
On the Hill: Wednesday, 9:00AM until 9:30AM.
Panther Sports: In conjunction with Prairie View Panther Sports competition for Football and Men’s & Women’s Basketball
National Programming
Inside Gospel: Sundays from 10:00AM until Noon.
New Inspiration for the Nation: Sundays from Noon until 12:30PM,
Soul of Jazz: Thursdays from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.
Blues Time in the City: Saturday, 10:00AM until Noon
Friends of the Blues: Saturdays from Noon until 2:00PM.
The Steve Edwards Soul Show: Saturdays from 2:00PM until 4:00PM
