Introduction to Composer Poster Research Project
Composers have changed the way we listen to music. Composers are not only
musicians that are no longer alive but are still composing music that we love to listen to
today. Let's go on the Internet and check out some of Romantic Era composers and
learn about their music and lives.
Task
Before you begin the composer project, find a student that you will work with. You will look at
and decide on one composer that attracts your interest. You will prepare a Biography Poster
together and present it before the class. You will discover and write about the composers’
famous music, their family, and two unknown fascinating stories.
Process
What Information you will need to include:
1. Draw a picture with lots of detail and color
of the composer, or use a printed picture.
2. Find 4 important songs they have composed.
3. Something about their family: marriage,
children, parents, siblings, etc.
4. Two fascinating stories about their personal
life.
5. Did the composer have another career before
he became a composer? Explain.
6. Prepare to present your written information
with a song selection in class.
7. Please be NEAT, and work extra well with
you partner.

Conclusion
Thank you for working so hard on the Composer research project. I am very proud of the time and
effort you have put into the project. Please take some time and rehearse with your partner how your
information will be presented in the classroom. You may bring in a CD or even your iPod and play a
song from your composer report.
If there is another composer that piqued your interest, you may log back in, follow the links and read
about them.
