Anesthetic Lidocaine Hydrochloride Gel Drug Name Generic Name: Lidocaine Hydrochloride Gel English Name: Lidocaine Hydrochloride Gel The essential component of this product is lidocaine hydrochloride. Its chemical name is: N-(2,6- xylyl)-2-( diethylamino) acetamide chloride – hydrate. Molecular Formula: C14 H22N2O·HCI·H2O Molecular Weight: 288.82 Description This product is a colorless or yellowish viscous liquid. Pharmacological Actions This product has the local anesthetic action of lidocaine hydrochloride. Its excipient can adhere uniformly to the mucous membrane, delaying drug releasing, slowing down drug absorption of the mucous membrane, and extending drug action. Meanwhile, this product also has a lubricating action, being a local anesthetic lubricant used clinically. Indications ◇ This product is indicated for the patients who need a local anaesthesia while undergoing examination or treatment via urethra. Dosage and Administration Direction for Use: 1. Pull off the tab ring to open the bottle. 2. Squeeze the bottom of the plastic bottle gently to extrude the gel, smear a little gel at the external orifice of urethra, about 1 minute later, insert the tube head into the external orifice of urethra and inject demanded dose of gel into the urethra. For male patients, massage the bulb of urethra for 3-5 minutes before another injection. Dosage: 20ml for cystoscopy, biopsy under cystoscope, urethral catheterization, foreign body dislodgment, laser therapy, electrocautery, and lithotripsy. 10ml-15ml for urethra dilation, urethral catheterization and pulling out urethral catheter in male patients Adverse Reactions Blood pressure and heart rate rise occasionally and generally return to normal levels spontaneously after operation. Contraindications This product is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine. Precautions 1. It should be used with caution in patients with severe hypertension or urethral injury. 2. When the product is used, make the local lumen fully filled with gel to achieve optimize effect.
