BIOLOGY – Ch 38(Circulatory and Respiratory systems)
________________________________________________________________________
Cardiovascular system – connects the muscle and organs of the body through an
extensive system of vessels that transport blood.
Blood vessels
(Refer to picture in packet)
Lymphatic system – collects and recycles fluids leaked for the cardiovascular system
and is involved in fighting infections. It is made up of lymphatic vessels and lymph
nodes. Lymph tissue maybe found in places including thymus, tonsil, spleen, and bone
marrow.
Immune cells in the lymph nodes and lymphatic organs help defend the body against
bacteria, viruses, other infecting microbes and cancerous cells.
