Patrick Hahn Conductor / Composer Conductor, composer and pianist Patrick Hahn was born in 1995 in Graz, Austria and is already an award winning artist both at home and abroad having received recognition for his compositions and performances in New York, Chicago, La Crosse, Salzburg and Vienna. As a conductor, Patrick has worked with orchestras as well as opera houses including the Hungarian State Opera Budapest at a gala concert in September 2014, Leipziger Symphonieorchester, Hamburger Symphoniker, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Savaria Symphony Orchestra and Capella Calliope. He was a Fellow at the 2016 Aspen Conducting Academy, and in January 2017 he will return to the Tiroler Festspiele Erl to conduct Mendelssohn's Symphony No.2. Patrick’s first composition was an opera, Die Frittatensuppe, which he premiered in 2008. In 2013 he was awarded the 2nd prize from 170 submissions worldwide for his composition Ameraustrica at the 2013 Penfield Music Commission Project Contest (New York, USA). Aside from his work in classical music, Patrick has a keen interest in jazz and has received awards as a pianist at jazz festivals such as Chicago, and the ‘Outstanding Soloist Award’ from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse as the best jazz pianist of the 37th Annual Jazz Festival. Patrick received his vocal training and musical experience in various opera houses throughout Austria. He studied piano with Maria Zgubic and orchestral conducting with Martin Sieghart, Wolfgang Bozic and Johannes Prinz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Austria.
