Trappist ‐1 You may have heard about the seven new planets N.A.S.A. astronomers have discovered. This amazing discovery was made on February 22nd 2017. Will these new Planets hold life? Well that’s what Scientist are going to find out. At a conference Thomas Zurbuchen Associate Administrator, Science Mission Directorate at N.A.S.A said that ‘The discovery gives us a hint that finding a new earth is not a matter of IF but WHEN’ Many scientists also think that this might be a chance to find a alien life form. This is a crucial step to finding out if life is out there. If life has managed to thrive and release gases that we release on earth then we will know for sure that life is out there. Dr. Triaud said ‘If there is life round Trappist ‐1 then it is good we didn’t wait to long’ The astronomers that discovered the solar system named it after the robotic telescope they used when they discovered it. The planets all orbit the same dwarf star that Above is the Trappist ‐1 system. is about 39 light years away from earth or 235 Trillion miles from earth. This is the first time that so many planets have been found orbiting the same star.
