The Solar System
1. In this lesson, the student will learn the planets. Go to the website
entitled Solar System and click on each planet to learn about them.
Throughout the lesson, the student will understand the orbits, sizes,
and classifications of the different planets. The basic reason why the
planets revolve around, or orbit the sun, is that the gravity of the Sun
keeps them in their orbits. Note that the planets are orbiting the sun.
See Figure 1 for an example.
