Tony Usibelli

Tony Usibelli is Director of the Energy Policy Division for the Washington State
Office of Trade and Economic Development (OTED). Prior to joining OTED, he
was an energy code specialist with Washington State University, manager of the
energy efficiency-section at the Washington State Energy Office, and a staff
scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Usibelli’s responsibilities focus on policy support for Washington’s energy
efficiency and renewable energy industry, state and national electricity policy,
ethanol development, global climate change and greenhouse gas reduction
strategies, and implementation of state-level energy policy.
Usibelli has also been an adjunct faculty member at the Evergreen State College
where he has taught or co-taught courses in energy, natural resources, and
global climate change. He holds a master’s degree in energy and resources
from the University of California, Berkeley, and bachelor of arts degrees in
geography and classical archaeology.
