Box 777, Santa Fe, Texas 77517 Office Numbers: 409-925-7771 and 409-925-3819 _____________________________________________________________________________________________ The Mark Kilroy Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of substance abuse through education and rehabilitation. The casual or recreational use of drugs is where drug addiction starts. One of the goals of our foundation is to unite the youth against all uses of illegal drugs. The Mark Kilroy Foundation will award a renewable scholarship to a 2016 graduating senior from Santa Fe and Hitchcock High Schools who will attend a Texas college or university in pursuit of a career in any field of human and public services, such as but not limited to medicine, teaching, public health, criminal justice, rehabilitation, social work, etc. Each scholarship is renewable for a total of $2,000 for a duration of four years. Scholarship Information and Eligibility Requirements The Mark Kilroy Foundation scholarship will be presented each May at the yearly High School Awards Ceremonies. The student(s) who is awarded this scholarship will receive the initial payment of $250 at the beginning of the fall semester and additional payments at the beginning of each following semester. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student. a) To receive the first $250 of the scholarship funds, the student will be required to submit a copy of their college registration form for the fall semester to the Mark Kilroy Foundation Scholarship Committee. b) To receive the second $250 and future payments of the scholarship funds, the student will be required to submit a copy of their fall/spring college transcript and a copy of their spring/fall college registration form. c) Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours and maintain a grade point average per semester of 2.5 or better based on a 4.0 grading system. d) The scholarship is renewable for an additional three years for a maximum of $2,000 ($250 per semester). To receive renewal scholarship funds, a student must comply with the above requirements for each semester. The Mark Kilroy Foundation reserves the right to end future scholarship payments based on annual charitable funding limitations that may arise. Applicants agree to allow the use of their name, award photos & info. by the foundation for website and social media, (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) purposes.
