Leon Baugh
Trained at Laban (conservatoire for professional dance training in London) where he was
awarded the Principals Award for Outstanding Achievement in Performance. Since
graduating he has performed with Barebones, Frantic Assembly, Jasmin Vardimon Dance
Company and Stan Won't Dance and worked with choreographers including Carol Brown
and Athina Vahla. Leon appeared in a television commercial for Orange and starred in a
recent music video for Badly Drawn Boy. He has been involved in research and development
for Sacha Wares (Associate Director, Royal Court Theatre) and Billy Elliot - The Musical and
Lord of the Rings. He is also a qualified Sports Massage Therapist.
Christopher Evans
A recent graduate of the London Contemporary Dance School, Christopher began working
with Hofesh Shechter during his final year. He comes from a theatrical background, and has
been specialising in contemporary dance for five years. Christopher is also part of the dance
collective “MWAG” (Mother Wanted a Girl), who were recently commissioned by The Place
Prize 2006, and have toured in Northern Spain. Christopher's interests lie in physical theatre,
and he hopes that his dance career will merge in and out of an acting career in the years to
come.
Thomas Goodwin
Thomas graduated from Laban in 2003 after which he joined ex.e.r.ce04, a professional
formation under the direction of Mathilde Monnier at the Centre Chorégraphique National
Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon in France, studying improvisation and devising with artists
such as Mark Tomkins and Lisa Nelson. In 2005, he trained as a yoga teacher in India and
continues to teach in London and occasionally abroad. In 2006 he travelled through China,
Japan and Taiwan, studying various Martial Arts and giving movement workshops along the
way.
In his performance work he has worked in such disciplines a Butoh, silent theatre and
puppetry as well as contemporary dance and with artists such as Lisa Torun, Ya-Wen Lin
(Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan) and Emma Bernard (Company of Love). More
recently he trained in Traditional Thai massage in north Thailand and Bangkok.
Eulalia Ayguade Farro
Eulalia studied at the Institut del Teatre and in 1998, in 2001 she moved to the P.A.R.T.S.
(Performing Arts Research and Training Studio) in Brussels run by of Anne Tereza de
Kersmarker. From 2001 she worked with Pubilk Eye Company in Denmark and then joined
Akram Khan Company until 2006. She has also made her own work with Anton Lachky in 2005
" Twice Read”, and worked with Enclave Dance Company, Brussels in 2006.
Amy Hollingsworth
Born in Australia Amy trained at the Australian Ballet School where she was awarded the Marilyn
Rowe Maver Scholarship. After graduating she joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 1994. In
1995 she was promoted to soloist and in 1996 to principal. In 1997 Amy joined Peter Schaufuss
Ballet as a principal dancer and performed as a guest artist with MBT Dansteater. In April 2000
she joined Rambert Dance Company. In January 2005 Amy won the Critic's Circle Dance Award
for Most Outstanding Female Artist for her work with Rambert Dance Company. Amy left
Rambert in April 2006 to be a founding member of Bonachela Dance Company. The company's
first show has toured internationally to critical acclaim. Amy has since been appointed Rehearsal
Director as well as continuing in her role as dancer. Amy was assistant choreographer and
rehearsal director for Kylie Minogue on her worldwide KylieFever tour and also for Kylie's ‘Love at
First Sight' and Primal Scream's ‘Miss Lucifer' music videos. In 2004, Amy was seen as ‘Queen of
the Fairies' in the Oscar nominated film Finding Neverland (starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet
and Dustin Hoffman). She also produced and starred in a dance film ‘The Muse' choreographed
by Rafael Bonachela. In July 2006 Amy joined the Michael Clark Company as a guest artist for
Mmm… Michael Clark's production of Rite of Spring.
Bruno Karim Guillore
Born in Cairo ( Egypt ), Bruno studied dance in Paris (C.N.S.M de Paris) under Quentin Rouillier,
after which he worked for Beatriz Consuelo (Ballet junior, Geneva), Richard Wherlock (Luzern
Ballet and Komischer Oper Berlin), Iracity Cardoso and Paulo Ribeiro (Ballet Gulbenkian, Lisbon)
and is currently a freelance dancer working between London and Lisbon. He has also danced
pieces by Guillermo Bothelo, Ed Wubbe, Orian Anderson, Rui Horta, Ytzik Galili, Ohad Naharin,
Mats Ek, Styn Celis, Mauro Bigonzetti, Didy Veldman, Marie Chouinard, Clara Andermatt, Rui
Lopez Graca, Regina Van Berkel and Hofesh Schechter. Bruno also featered in the movie
Passengers by Richard Wherlock.
Young Jin Kim
Born in Seoul, South Korea Young Jin studied at the "Korean National University of Art". In 2001, he
continued studing at KNUA's Department of Dance Performance for a Master in Fine Arts. After
graduating, Young Jin started the Laboratory Dance Project (LDP) dance company
with fellow graduates. He's also worked with Micha Purucker, Iztok Kovac and Ismael Ivo. In 2005
he joined the Akram Khan Company and dances in "ma", "variations for vibes, strings & pianos".
Elias Lazaridis
Born in Greece Elias started classical dancing from the age of eight, he then went on to study
contemporary dance in Athens and worked with Ad LIb dance company and the Greek
National Opera. Following this he went to study inn Brussels at P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts
Research and Training Studio).
Timea Maday Kinga
Born in Budapest, Hungary Timea danced as a child with a youth company where she learnt
jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, gymnastic, and drama. After one year of studying at the
Hungarian Ballet Academy in the folk and modern dance department she moved to a
contemporary dance school in Budapest to study contemporary technique.
In 2002 she entered P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts Research and Training Studio) in Brussels. During
her studies she danced in 'Lilly', choreographed by Miriam Friedrich (2002), 'Autumn', a solo
short film made by herself (2003), and 'BOX' Project choreographed by David
Hernandez(2005). In her last year at P.A.R.T.S. she presented work in the 'Festival des
Mensonges' in a collaboration with Faustin Linyekula. After graduating Timea joined Rosas to
perform in the work ‘D'un soir un jour'. She also taught at P.A.R.T.S. as a replacement for David
Hernandez. In 2007 she performed her solo 'Working Process' in Resolution! at The Place. At
the end of 2007 Timea will join Cirque du Soleil, in Canada to begin work on the Macau
Project.
Ino Riga
Born in Athens, Greece Ino trained at the State School of Dance in Athens between 1992 and
2003 and was the recipient of the Pratsika scholarship in summer 2003. Whilst in Greece, she
worked with Iniochos Theatre Company as a choreographer and assistant, and with Idanikoi
Dance
theatre
Company
as
a
collaborator
and
performer.
In Autumn 2003 Ino moved to England and joined the Richard Alston Dance Company,
where she stayed for two years. In May 2005 she performed in the Eclipse duet, revived as
part of the “Robert Cohan at 80” celebratory performance at Sadler's Wells. Ino then went on
to work with Wayne McGregor and Random Dance Company. She took part in the creation
of Amu, toured internationally and performed in more works such as Ataxia and Nemesis and
taught in the educational projects of the company until November 2006. Since December
2006 Ino has been working with Hofesh Shechter on his new piece, In Your Rooms.
Phil Hulford
Philip Hulford was born in Bolivia, South America. He studied Gymnastics from the age of four
until thirteen. During this time he competed in several competitions in Bolivia then moved to
England were he competed at a National Level. He began his dance training at eighteen at
North Hertfordshire College, UK. After the first year of his studies he was asked to join London
Contemporary Dance School for the BA Degree course. One of the choreographers that he
worked with while in his second year at the school was Hofesh Shechter. He joined Hofesh for
his 2006 tour in September. He is now 21 and in his final of 3 years at the school and is hoping
to Choreograph his own work before trying out the world of stunts.
Winifed Burnet-Smith
Born in Brighton in 1982 Winifred started her dance training at the Arts Educational School, she
then went on to train at the Rambert School, Ecole Superieure de Danse de Cannes and the
Rotterdam Dance Academy. She began her dance career with the Dutch company Galili
Dance, then went on to work with Granhoj Dans in Denmark before returning to England to
work
with
choreographer
Tom
Dale.
She was a member of Russell Maliphant company from 2005-07 where she toured the
programme Transmission and Push. Since then she has been dancing with Ballet Lorent
performing ‘La Nuit Intime’ Winifred has been studying Argentine Tango for the last 2 years.
Yen Ching Lin
Born in Taiwan, Yen-Ching studied at Taipei National University of the Arts before she join
London Contemporary Dance School in 2003. She completed the one year certificate dance
training, and become a member of the post-graduate company Edge05. During her time in
LCDS, she has worked with choreographers such as Maresa von Stockert, Charles Linehan,
Martin Lawrance, Jonathan Lunn and Jan de Schynkell. After Edge, She joined Hofesh
Shechter in the tour of “Cult” and in 2006-2007 she joined Bern Ballet to work with Stijn Celis.
Lauren Mitchell
Lauren was born in Scotland and trained at The Dance School of Scotland before moving to
London. Lauren graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2007. She has
performed on tour with Hofesh Shechter in ‘Cult’ since Autumn 2006. In May 2007 she
performed Shechter’s ‘Fragments’ in Paris at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Danse
with LC 3 the third year company of LCDS and subsequently has performed the work on tour
with Shechter’s own company. In 2004 Lauren was the star of Totally Dance School a 4 part
documentary that followed the life of a dance student in London.
Music Arranger
Nell Catchpole
Nell studied violin at the Guildhall School and Britten-Pears School.
In 1995 she co-founded the gogmagogs with theatre director, Lucy Bailey. With their group of
seven moving string players, they have created seven shows, commissioning 21 composers.
the gogmagogs have performed in the UK and Festivals in Edinburgh, New York, Toronto,
Sydney, Seoul, Copenhagen, Singapore, Patras, Colorado and Sao Paulo.
Nell has worked extensively with producer Brian Eno, arranging/recording strings on his solo
albums, and with U2, John Cale and others. Having featured on Eno's album with J Peter
Schwalm, 'Drawn From Life', she performed internationally in their live band, including the Fuji
Rock Festival in Japan.
Other live performance includes: Sabreen (international band based in Palestine); Nigel
Kennedy's Hendrix Project; Jocelyn Pook Ensemble; ‘Little Red Riding Hood' (music by
Georges Aperghis, directed by Annabel Arden) at the Almeida Opera in London;
performances with J Peter Schwalm in Palma, Mallorca and at the Punkt Festival in Norway;
The Stranglers, Abdullah Ibrahim, The High Llamas, Ben Folds Five, Gorky's Myncies. Other
string arranging/recording work includes: Rachid Taha, Bono ‘What's Going On', Dr. Robert,
Michael Brook. Musical Director/Composer for the gogmagogs at the National Theatre
Studio; Music/Sound Design for Comfort Me With Apples, Hampstead Theatre and Don't Look
Now, Sheffield Lyceum/Lyric, Hammersmith. Nell is violinist in rock band, The Lea Shores, who
will play the Royal Albert Hall in March, 2007 and release their single, ‘Guillotine' in April.
She is an Associate of the String Department at the Guildhall School where she teaches
improvisation.
