Theclassisdesignedforstudentsinterestedinavarietyofactivitiesthat
leadtoalifelonghealthylifestyle.Thecourseutilizesappropriate
instructionalpracticestodevelopcompetenceandconfidenceinavariety
oflifetimeactivityandmovementforms,includingsports,dance,outdoor
recreation,physicalfitnessandpropernutrition.
Aspeciallookatliteratureandfilmtogether.Thisinnotyouraverage
class,aswewillnotbecomparingthebookstothemovies.Thiswillbean
in-depthlookatdifferentstoriesandmoviesthatsharesomewhatofa
storylineortheme.Youwillneedparentpermissionforthisclassanda
syllabuswillbeprovidedbeforeregistrationbecausesomeoftheratedPG
andPG-13content.
ThiscoursefocusesontheoriginsofthemodernScienceFictionand
Fantasygenres.Participantswillreadandcriticallyanalyzeshortstories
andnovelsbyauthorssuchasH.G.Wells,C.S.Lewis,JulesVern,J.R.R.
Tolkien,CarolLewis,RayBradbury,IsaacAsimov,andFrankHerbert.
Studentswillreadandcreateliterarycriticismofmodernworksinthese
genres.Finally,theclasswilllookatoralandvisualmediumsforthese
genres,includingearlyworkssuchasBeowulftomodernentriessuchas
StarWars.
Thisclassisdesignedforstudentswhoneedadditionalsupportinmath,or
forstudentswhowantadditionalenrichmentintheirmathcurriculum.
MarketingIisthefoundationforallmarketingcourses.Studentswilllearn
basicprinciplesthatleadtocareersinmarketing,finance,hospitality,and
management.Studentswillbeintroducedtotheworldofmarketing
includingthefreeenterprisesystem.Thesevencorefunctionsofmarketing
willbeexamined:MarketingPlanning,Marketing-Information
Management,Pricing,Product/ServiceManagement,Promotion,Channel
Management,andSelling.Acentralfocusthroughoutthecoursewillbethe
developmentofsoftskillsincludingteamwork,oralcommunication,
writtencommunication,decision-making,andemotionalintelligence.
Thisclassisdesignedtoteachbasicmusicaltheatreperformanceskills.We
willdevelopourabilitiestosing,danceandactbothasasoloandinan
ensemble.ThisclassishighlyparticipatoryandNOEXPERIENCEIS
NECESSARY.Thisclassisinnowayaffiliatedwiththeextra-curricular
dramaproductions.
Theclassisdesignedforstudentsinterestedintheartofsocialdance,
partnerdance.Theclassexploresmanygenresofballroom/partnerdances,
basictechniquesrelatedtothestyleofdance,elementsofdance,dance
fitness,terminologyanddancehistory.

Thisclassisdesignedtobeahands-onapproachthetechnicalsideof
theatre.Mostofthisclasswillbefocusedonthedesignandbuildingofthe
set,propsandcostumesfortheSpringmusical.Studentswillbetaughtto
safelyusedrills,hammers,screwdriversandotherbuildingequipmentas
wellasscenicpaintingandtheatricaldesign.Studentsmayalsohavethe
opportunitytohelpbackstagewiththeSpringmusical.
Thisclassisspeciallydesignedtogivestudentsanopportunitytoexpress
themselvesthroughtheatre.Overthecourseofthesemesterstudentswill
beintroducedtoactingtechniques,theatrehistory,improvisationand
playwriting.ThisclassishighlyparticipatoryandNOEXPERIENCE
ISNECESSARY.Thisclassisinnowayaffiliatedwiththeextra-curricular
dramaproductions.
Thissemestercourseprovidesstudentswithamajoremphasisonthe
principlesanddesignofawebsiteaswellasadvancedInternetskills.
HTML,Webpublishingandgraphiceditingsoftwarewillbeusedtodesign,
create,format,andeditwebpages.
Thisclassisdesignedforthestudentstocreateandmaketheiryearbook
fortheendoftheyear.Thestudentswillworkonaprogramonlineto
makesurethatallofthebestthingsabouttheschoolareshownand
highlighted.Itisademandingclassthatrequiresfullparticipationthrough
theendofthesemesterforallstudents.
