ABSTRACT:
With the microgrid technologe has become more and more mature, the power outputs of the
distributed generations (DGs) in micro-grid to make the system’s operation economic and reliable
has become the focus. In this paper, by studying the operating characteristics of the DGs and the
changes of load we established a mathematical model to optimize microgrid operation and
developed the operating strategies of island operation and network operation. Then we used PSO
to coordinate the power output of distributed generations. A Research on Optimal Economy of
Microgrid Based on Particle Swarms Optimization was proposed. By means of the presented
disposals, we know that using particle swarm optimization algorithm can quickly coordinate the
power output of the distributed generations and make target costs a minimum to achieve optimal
economic operation.
1 INTRODUCTION
This paper proposed a micro grid economic operation optimization design method.Set the sell
electricity cost of the micro grid distributed power active power, operation maintenance cost, fuel
consumption cost, pollution gas processing cost and micro power grid line loss in the system
reduced cost as objective function. Set the equality constraints in the supply and demand balance
of power in the micro grid and the inequality constraints of each node voltage limit and energy
storage device charge-discharge threshold limit as constraint conditions. Put forward particle
swarm algorithm of micro economic optimization design method of the grid. The simulation
results show that the method can fast coordination of the distributed power supply output target
cost minimum, economic operation to achieve the optimal.
2 Micro power grid optimization scheduling model
2.1 Objective function
The objective function of micro power system economic optimization consists of the
following sections:
Goal 1: micro grid economic benefit is supreme, namely minimum generating cost, including
micro power grid power generation unit fuel costs, operation maintenance cost as well as the
micro grid trading revenue.

In (1), N is the total power supply number of micro power grid, C Fui is the ith micro power
fuel costs. COmi is the ith operation maintenance costs of the micro power. When Pgrid ≥0,
C cx=Cbuy,when P grid<0 时 C cx=C cell,Cbuy、Ccell are the micro grid power purchase and sale of
electricity price to the network.


This paper summarized the composition and structure of micro power grid. Analysed
complex characteristics of the micro economic optimization of power grid research status and
many different kinds of the distributed power supply,different power characteristics. According to
the different operating characteristics of distributed power supply, the particle swarm optimization
algorithm is used for micro islands of power grid and the parallel operation of the example
simulation in two kinds of circumstances. Simulation results show that using the particle swarm
algorithm to optimize a micro power grid operation, not only solving the speed problem, and can
be obviously improved in the process of the micro grid operation of the load power supply quality,
reduce line losses, reduce the pollution gas emissions and run maintenance cost, etc. both
economic and environmental protection.
