An intensive pronoun is one ending in -self or -selves that is used to emphasize the preceding noun or pronoun (its antecedent). Capitalize specific places (countries, cities, states). When a geographical name has two or more elements, separate with comma. Unless geographical name with multiple parts occurs at the end of the sentence, final word should be followed by a comma. A reflexive pronoun is one ending in -self or -selves that is used as an OBJECT in the sentence and refers to the subject. Sentence Three Rules Capitalize the first letter of the sentence. A relative pronoun is used to join a dependent clause to its antecedent in the independent clause. a. 4WT = who, whom, whose, which, that An appositive is a word or phrase that follows a noun and explains its meaning. A nonrestrictive appositive adds extra information and is surrounded by commas. Capitalize words in an address. Write out address numbers numerically. Affect = verb Effect = noun a. Remember, A Very Easy Noun When a word ends in -o and is preceded by a consonant, add -es to make plural. When a word ends in -o and is preceded by a vowel, add an -s to make plural.
