APPLICATION FOR A DRA SYMPOSIUM
The DRA symposium should be part of a research education initiative and should
be announced to attract the attention of the PhD students. The main organizer
must be a DRA supervisor.
DRA covers costs in connection with hotel and travel, dinner or lunch, and
refreshments during the symposium.
Max. amount granted is DKK 30,000 (max DKK 4,000 per speaker).
Please fill in this application form and program template and send it to the DRA
secretariat. Applications are processed on a continuous basis.
The DRA symposium will be announced at the DRA homepage, in-house (incl.
info screens) and via DRA’s external mailing lists.
It is a requirement for financial support that the symposium is announced under
Drug Research Academy:
- The symposium must take place at UP2 in one of the auditoria. Only if no
auditorium is available another meeting room at UP2 can be accepted.
- The standard template for the program must be used (see below)
- Participants should sign a list of participants provided by and returned to
DRA.
- DRA requires a minimum of two weeks from application to event to allow
for sufficient time for handling the application and announcement.
Please also note that:
o Travel:
All flight tickets should be economy fare (max. DKK 3,000 for European
flights and DKK 6,000 for overseas flights).
o Hotel accommodation:
Hotels being part of the “Statsaftale” must be used (max. per night DKK
1025).
For speakers travelling within Europe: you can apply for hotel
accommodation for 1 night.
For speakers travelling from overseas: you can apply for hotel
accommodation for max. 2 night’s.
o Social arrangements
The maximum amount covered for dinner or lunch (not in-house) is DKK
800.
PhD students should be invited to social arrangements, dinners etc. (at
least 1 PhD student per 5 participants)
For a full day symposium the maximum amount covered for lunch and
refreshments is DKK 140 (DKK 80 for lunch, DKK 20 for break
refreshments)
o Transfer of a grant
If the application is approved, the grant will be transferred to the account
o
indicated. In case you spend substantially less than budgeted for/granted,
the surplus must be returned to DRA.
Co-organised symposia
Symposia arranged in dual cooperation between academia and
industry/regulatory bodies are also encouraged. In this case co-funding is
required.

The symposium is organized on behalf of the graduate programme in
pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy, by xxxx,
Department of Pharmacy/Drug Design and Pharmacology, Faculty of
Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
Participation is free of charge and open for attendance by all interested
parties. It is not necessary to pre-register.
