It can convert fixed voltage and fixed frequency AC power to variable voltage and variable frequency AC power directly without DC link and bulk energy storage component. Classical modulation methods such as maximum envelop modulation (Venturini method), Space Vector Modulation (SVM), implement matrix conversion successfully. However, in the mean time they cause very high total harmonic distortion (THD). This seminar presents a Sub-Envelope Modulation (SEM) method to reduce THD for matrix converter. The approach is extended to an improved version of matrix converter and the THD can be reduced further. The algorithm of SEM is described in detail. The method of current commutation is also proposed. Simulation and experiment results are also presented to verify the feasibility of SEM approach. The results will be very helpful to industry application. 邀請學者簡介: Dr. Luo Fang Lin is an Associate Professor in the school of EEE, Nanyang Technological University from 1999. He is an IEEE Senior member, and Fellow of the Cambridge philosophical Society since 1985. He has published 7 books, 118 technical papers in international journals, 113 technical papers in international conferences. He was the Chief Editor of the international journal <Power Supply Technologies and Applications> in 1998-2003. He is an international Editor of the journal "Advanced Technology of Electrical Engineering and Energy". He is currently an Associate Editor of IEEE-Trans. on P.E. and IEEE Trans. on I.E.. He is the General Chairman of the IEEE International Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA) 2006 in Singapore and ICIEA 2008 in China. 演講免費入場,歡迎踴躍參加
