3rd Grade Math Note Cards (Created byLynn McCoy, Modified by Jamyle Acevedo) Data and Graphing Line Graph 4 (y axis) (x axis) A line graph shows the changes in data over time . Data and Graphing Pictograph 4 Key A pictograph uses sets of pictures to represent information. Use the key to solve the problem. 2008-2009 Created by Lynn McCoy, Modified by Jamyle Acevedo Page 1 of 17 Data and Graphing Bar Graph 4 A bar graph uses horizontal or vertical lines to show or information. Data and Graphing Line Plot 4 In a line plot, data is placed on a number line using symbols. Data and Graphing Stem and Leaf Plot 4 In a stem-and-leaf plot each data value is split into a "stem" and a "leaf". The "leaf" is usually the last digit of the number and the other digits to the left of the "leaf" form the "stem". 2008-2009 Created by Lynn McCoy, Modified by Jamyle Acevedo Page 2 of 17 Data and Graphing Pie Chart 4 A pie chart is a circle divided into triangles. The triangles represent a part or percentage (%) of the whole.
