Know the structure and function of the following: cervix, uterus, seminal vesicle, prostate, epididymis, testes,
vas deferens, vagina, ovary, fimbrae, endometrium, placenta, scrotum , umbilical cord
Know the terms: oocyte (egg), implantation, zygote, blastocyst, fertilization, gestation, amniotic fluid, lactation,
oogenesis (production of eggs), gonads, ovulation, birthing canal, spermatogenesis (production of sperm)
Infertility- know the lab (read the pages over—look at notes), IVF (know the movie we watched—it is linked in
my FIS)
Causes of abnormal fetal development (look at lab titled “Fetal Development”
Sperm- structure, function, production
Characteristics of fertilization
Male and female hormones- what do they do in both genders
Know composition of semen
Disorders: endometrium, prostate cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cyst, ectopic pregnancy, amenorrhea
Pregnancy: symptoms, trimesters, hormones, what is going on in the body,
Labor and delivery: Braxton hicks contractions, epidural, vaginal delivery vs. caesarian delivery
