Professional Experience
Oct’00 – Till Date
Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx, Xxx
Cupertino, CA, USA
Jan’05 – Till Date
Data Blaze
HSDCI product is being enhanced to provide all the extract and load functionalities under a single product
umbrella. This would further enhance capability to provide a seamless integration with industry leading ETL tools
(Informatica PowerCenter & Ascential DataStage).
Working as project lead, architect and developer for this enhancement.
Apr’04 – Till Date
NonStop dba/m for SQL/MX
dba/m is database management tool for NonStop SQL/MP. With the introduction of new ANSI compliant database
on NonStop, dba/m was extended to support this new database.
Worked as architect and developer for implementation of auto-partitioning server. This server developed in
C++ provides users with ability to re-design their skewed range partitioned tables.
Oct’03 – Mar’04
HSDCI (High Speed Data Connectivity Interface)
HSDCI provides uses ability to move data between NonStop databases and databases on other platforms such as
Windows, Linux, HP-UX, and Sun Solaris. Tool easily integrates with industry leading ETL tools to provide access to
non-NonStop databases.
Worked as project lead and architect for implementing this tool. Also developed the Windows/UNIX
component in C++, which provides ETL tool integration capabilities.
Feb’03 – Sep’03
Extraction Aggregation Tool
Extraction Aggregation Tool is best in its bread tool for creating aggregates on NonStop platform. It has following
features:
 Extracts from tables or views
 Multiple extracts in single run
 Parallel extracts and aggregates
 Supports table/index based execution
 SQL query optimization
Worked as project lead and architect and also developed extractor in C/C++.
Aug’01 – Jan’03
Data Mining Solution Kit
Data Mining Solution Kit brings data mining features to NonStop platform users. It consists of following products:
 Data Preparation Tool provides users ability to profile and prepare data for data mining
 Data Transfer Tool provides users ability to move data from NonStop tables to SAS datasets
 Data Modelling Tool moves models generated by SAS Enterprise Miner to NonStop tables for use in data
scoring during online data mining
Worked as architect and also developed components for Data Preparation Tool and Data Transfer Tool. Project
involved work in C/C++ and MS VB 6.0.
Nov’00 – Jul’01
BigFiles Enhancement of NonStop SQL/MP
Compaq Computers Corporation, Cupertino, CA
BigFiles enhancements, which were earlier made available in Enscribe, were extended to SQL/MP. With BigFiles
feature in place, users can create SQL/MP partitions of size up to 1TB. Many customers desired this feature as
SQL/MP is gaining popularity because of its involvement in ZLE and other huge database applications.
Worked on SQL/MP component in Backup/Restore as a developer. Also supported SQL Loader and SQL Utilities
team to speed the implementation.
Nov’96 – Oct'00
Tata Consultancy Services
Mumbai, India
Sep’99 – Oct’00
Research And Data Analysis Repository (RADAR) & Blue-Sheets
The project involved porting the existing Legacy application (developed using Applixware) of NASD-R to web.
NASD-R is the regulatory body of NASDAQ.
RADAR and Blue-Sheets are part of Vista. Vista is collection of all the Market Surveillance systems of NASD-R.
RADAR provides analysts an access to the data pertaining to the Issues listed at NASDAQ. RADAR provides
following information to an Analyst at NASD-R:




Issue Information
Market Participant Information
Volumes of Issues Transacted
Statistical Information about an Issue in the form of Graphs and Reports
Blue-Sheets helps NASD-R in tracking fraud activities at NASDAQ. It takes care of:
 Cases generated against Market Participants
 Informing Market Participants about Frauds via Email


Taking care of the response made by the Market Participant through Data Integrity Reviews
Provides Analysts a way to maintain their own database (in the form of MS-Access) for easy tracking
Worked as project lead and architect. Project was implemented using MS IIS 4.0, MS VB 6.0, MS ASP 3.0
and DHTML.
Jun’98 – Jun’99
Atlas Development, Maintenance and Support
INGBANK, The Netherlands
Atlas is a back-office banking system running on HP NonStop.
Worked as a team member of Branch Development and Support group.
Responsible for:







Day to day support to ING branches in Europe.
Enhancements requested by branches. This involved developing/enhancing programs or enforms(reports) as
per requirement.
Interface development: Developed automatic interfaces for Sofia and Kiev branches using the XIS (External
Interface System) functionality of Atlas. The developed interfaces sophisticated the branch’s Electronic Banking
capability.
Solving performance problems related to Atlas and HP NonStop.
Atlas system installation/duplication.
Developing utilities for improving the support work.
Database management.
Dec’97 – May’98
Enhancement of File Utility Program
FUP is a Standard Software Utility of HP NonStop. It is used to manage Enscribe database of applications
developed on HP NonStop.
The project involved enhancing FUP to support Format 2 files (Big files) and Partitions, which are made possible by
D45/G06 versions of Non Stop Kernel.
FUP code was modified, making use of the new Guardian calls, and new features were added to the code.
Oct’97 – Nov’97
Development of UMPT (Usage Massive Parallel Test)
Belgacom, Belgium
Belgacom (Telecommunication Company) opted for HP NonStop as solution for handling its increasing business.
The company as well as customers required comparison of revenue generated by old system (Siemens) and new
system.
UMPT was made for comparing the revenue calculated by the old system and the new system on day-to-day basis.
UMPT produced reports for customers and the company.
May’97 – Dec’97
Web Based Netbatch-Plus
Netbatch is a powerful tool for time scheduling, start-up and management of the jobs on HP NonStop.
The objective of this project was to establish communication between the Internet Browsers and the existing
Netbatch Servers.
A Web Server was developed based on HTTP 1.0 protocol. NonStop Web Server used to service requests from Web
Clients (IE or Netscape Navigator). HTML equivalents of SCOBOL Screens of Netbatch Plus were made. Requests
sent by Web Clients were parsed by Web Server and sent to the appropriate Netbatch Plus server for processing.
Replies from the Netbatch Plus servers were formatted into HTML Pages and sent to respective Web Client.
Implemented the prototype of this project.
The work done on this project served as basis for Pathway/iTS project (a generic solution for making HP NonStop
Applications - “Web enabled”). Also, the concept was used in the development of Web Versions SCF.
Mar’97 – Oct’97
Quality Assurance
Involved in the Quality Assurance process of HP NonStop system products. Process involves running a library of
testcases against new version of a product. New testcases are added to the library for fixes done to a product.
Worked as QA Developer for Axcel, Binder, Crossref and Xllink utilities of HP NonStop. Participated in G02 testing of
Axcel and Binder.
