J7 Overview

The J7 drive is a general purpose inverter for
use with squirrel cage induction motors.
This PWM design provides low motor noise
and high starting torque. The current
overload rating is 150% for 60 seconds. V/Hz
control makes this drive suitable for most
general applications.

The J7 is feature-packed, low cost, and
compact. The digital operator includes a 3digit LED status display and an analog speed
potentiometer. Digital programming covers
79 parameters suitable for many
applications.

The four standard multifunction inputs can
be programmed to allow for 9 preset speeds.
The J7 also has an analog input, a
multifunction output, and a multifunction
analog output as standard.

V7 Overview

The V7 is a high performance AC drive
for induction motors combining compact
size with exceptional flexibility and
performance.

The V7 provides two control methods:
V/Hz and open loop vector control. Open
loop vector control provides precise
speed regulation and higher torque at
lower speeds.

The V7 is intended for constant torque
applications and is equipped with a high
current overload rating of 150% for 60
seconds and 200% for 30 seconds.

The V7 has multiple network
communication options and custom
application software available.

V7N
Overview
The V7N is a general purpose,
AC motor
drive for facilities using DeviceNet
communications. This drive provides
amazing performance in a small
package, and at significant cost benefit
compared to drives that use optional
plug-in interface cards.

The V7N was created by embedding
DeviceNet into the control card of the
highly successful V7 drive.

The embedded DeviceNet allows for up
to 32 network nodes. It includes a
programmable MAC ID and baud rate.
The V7N supports drive type profiles
with flash capability for easy software
upgrades. Network status LED’s are
visible through the cover and a
detachable connector simplifies wiring.
















V74X Overview

The V74X drive is a version of the
standard V7 in an integral enclosure that
meets NEMA 4X/12 indoor use
requirements, UL 4X/12 standards, and
IEC 529 IP66 ratings. This enclosure
provides the protection required in tough
wash-down or dust-tight environments,
common in Food and Beverage
Processing, Packaging, Metal Machining,
Woodworking, Pumping, Refrigeration,
and Printing. The cast enclosure is
powder-coated to protect against the
harmful effects of sanitizing chemicals
commonly used in food industries.

Performance and features are identical to
the standard V7. Two control methods,
V/Hz and open loop vector, allow for
matching the V7 to almost any
application. Open loop vector control
provides precise speed regulation and
higher torque at lower speeds.

P7 Overview

The P7 Drive is an ideal choice for industrial
applications such as centrifugal fans and
pumps. The drive has Normal Duty ratings
with nominal 110% for 60 seconds overload
capability. Network communication options
and an array of input/output choices are
available for installation flexibility. The P7
drive is designed for tough industrial
environments.

The P7 supports industry’s desire for open
network architecture and connectivity with
communication options such as LonWorks,
DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, and others.

With an optional phase-shifting input
transformer, the P7 dual-diode bridge can
be operated in a 12-pulse rectification mode
for reduced input harmonics.

G7 Overview


The G7 drive has the world’s first commercial
3-level power section architecture at 480V
offering the best solution for total system
protection. The 3-level power section
eliminates peripheral components typically
required to solve installation problems such
as long motor cable leads, motor bearing life,
audible noise, common mode noise, and
radiated electrical noise. The power section
also has a built-in DC bus choke and 12-pulse
input capability above 25 HP, common DC bus
capability, and regeneration options.
The G7 drive is the total solution for 
induction motor operation. With
increased speed and torque loop
response, the G7 provides servo-like
performance for superior motor
control. The G7’s performance and
flexibility make it the ideal drive for all
high performance applications. The
drive has the latest in auto-tuning
methods featuring both static and
rotational methods for easy
commissioning of any motor.
The G7 drive has a large programming feature
set to handle the needs of the most
sophisticated drive applications. However, if
the standard feature set does not meet your
specific requirements, the G7 has a
programming feature called DriveWorksEZ™.
DriveWorksEZ™ is a PC-based, object
oriented graphical icon programming tool,

E7 Overview

The E7 Drive is a Normal Duty
AC drive, designed specifically
for HVAC applications in
building automation. A new
benchmark for size, cost,
performance, benefits, and
quality, the E7 includes
numerous built-in features such
as Network Communications,
H/O/A, PI, and energy-savings
functions.

The E7 has embedded communications for the
popular building automation protocols such as
Johnson Controls Metasys® N2 and Siemens
APOGEE™ FLN, as well as Modbus. An optional
LonWorks® interface card is also available.

The LCD keypad/operator is equipped with
Hand/Off/Auto functions, copy feature, 7
language choices, and 5 lines of display with 16
characters per line.

The E7/Bypass package is a 3-contactor style
bypass, allowing motor operation from the drive
or across the line. This facilitates drive
maintenance while the motor continues to
operate.

The E7/Bypass is available to 250HP and has
been designed for flexibility in providing the
features and options commonly demanded by
facility designers.

HAND - The drive is given a start command,
operation is via the local speed input (digital
keypad or speed potentiometer).

OFF - The start command is removed, all
speed inputs are ignored.

AUTO - The drive is enabled to receive a start
command and speed input from a building
automation system.

MENU - Scrolls through the five main menu
selections.

MONITOR - Selects the monitor mode
(shown) from any display location.

INCREASE / DECREASE ARROWS - Changes
speed in Hand mode, changes displayed
values or parameter numbers and scrolls
within menus.
