The AETC Program supports a national network of
regional and several national centers that conduct
state-of-the-art HIV/AIDS clinical consultation,
education, and training programs. The AETCs focus
on improving the care of people living with HIV/
AIDS by increasing the number of healthcare
providers who are able to counsel, diagnose, treat,
and medically manage persons with HIV infection
and to decrease HIV transmission by promoting
risk reduction.
Supporting and complementing the regional
training centers are several national, cross-cutting
components of the AETC program, including the
National Minority AETC, the National Resource AETC,
the National Evaluation AETC, and the National
Clinicians Consultation Center.
