Hello and Welcome to Mr Hudson's World History page.
Syllabus
Text: Pearson – My World History
Instructor: Mr Charles Hudson [email protected]
Objective: Eighth grade world history will explore the beginning of mankind up to the Black plague. We will discuss the origins of all major
religions, the first 4 civilizations, and many links from the past that are still present today.
Course Description: The students will have their notes posted to Edmodo at the beginning of each section. They are to take the information in class
to complete their notes and use that to help them study for their tests. The students will receive a study guide assignment consisting of vocabulary
terms to help study for the benchmark test at the end of each quarter. This too will be a grade for the students.
Course Expectations: The Objective of this course is to bring a greater awareness of the history and cultures around the world in order to
inform/educate our students on the always growing interdependent world that we live in.
Units and Standards Covered: This course will cover ALCOS standards 1-17 as listed in the Huntsville City Schools World History Pacing Guide
Grading:Each student will receive at least three grades for each section consisting of 1-note grade, 1-quiz grade, and 1-test grade. There will be
times that a project may be assigned to the class for certain objectives.

Make-Up-Work: Assignments can be made up within a two week period of the absence unless there are extenuating circumstances. A grade of “0”
will be given if the assignment is not completed.
