Purpose of Function:
This is a MS SQL Server DBA role largely responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. We are
looking to fill a need to have a highly competent and highly motivated individual in this role. Some of the primary
responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling
requests and resolving service related issues, responding to database related alerts and escalations and coming up with strategic
solutions to recurring problems.
This MS SQL Server DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests
assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively
escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
This role also will play an integral part in application development as well, so knowledge and understanding of object oriented
programming is a plus.
This role requires good communication skills, as well as adaptability regarding new projects
Education Requirements:
College Degree, with a least a Major in Computer Science
Experience Requirements:












3 - 5 Years working with MSSQL Server 2005 or higher
Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
SQL Analysis Services, Integration Services, or Reporting Services knowledge
Proficient in SQL Scripting, Stored Procedures and TSQL.
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Experience in Object Oriented Development a plus with MS .NET technologies (C#, WPF, XML, XAML, Visual
Studio)
