TEGRA MULTI-FUNCTION DIGITAL METERING SYSTEM OFFERS NEW ENCLOSURE OPTIONS
WITHAM, UK – March 20, 2009 – Under its Crompton Instruments brand, Tyco Electronics has recently
released a new Tegra multi-function digital metering system (DMS) in a small DIN 72 and 4-module DIN-rail
case for all low and medium voltage switchgear and distribution systems. Benefiting from its compact design
and new enclosure options, the Tegra DMS displays up to 57 electrical parameters and complements the
Integra series of digital metering systems. To suit user requirements, Tegra DMS includes single-phase,
three-phase three-wire and three-phase four-wire capabilities under low voltage with unbalanced loads.
Available in 72mm panel mount and DIN-rail 4 module enclosures, Tegra 710 and Tegra 810 DMS devices
display and communicate all major electrical parameters like true RMS values, selectable CT and VT ratios
and monitor current, voltage, power factor, phase angle, active/reactive energy, and frequency values. The
simple menu-driven interface offers three reading modes (phase parameters, system parameters and
maximum parameter values).
Featuring LCD displays with backlight control, the interface program buttons enable simple programming of
CT and VT ratios settings, configuration of selected communication options and adjustment of operating
parameters.
Two independently programmable relay outputs (2A, 250V) can be configured to produce either a pulsed
output or can be individually programmed to be associated to the measured parameters, e.g. operating
value, latching, alarm mode, relay operating mode, set-point value, differential value or relay activation delay.
Tegra 710 and Tegra 810 DMS offer an optional RS485 communication port for direct connection to SCADA
systems using the Modbus RTU protocol. Remote monitoring enables users to record system parameters in
real time, using high resolution numbers.
