EXHIBIT A Job Description Senior Power Electronics Engineer Position Summary Senior Power Electronics Engineer with a background in power electronics to lead the development of our highly reliable energy efficiency products from conception into production. Responsibilities Selection of power electronic components that will ensure a robust product at the minimum cost needed to meet the customer requirements and usage scenarios. Lead the layout efforts of power electronic circuitry on PCBs to ensure our products are reliable and meet cost goals. Influence the product architecture to improve performance and minimize cost. Create simulations of the power circuitry in our products and the loads they drive to minimize surprises discovered during the evaluation of prototypes and production units. Drive the adoption of best in class power electronics development processes. Ensure the power electronics circuitry passes safety and EMI conformance testing. Evaluate the performance of our power electronics circuits. Work with the system engineer to develop control and protection algorithms needed by firmware developers. Verify these algorithms are implemented correctly. Contribute to the development of product requirements documentation. Contribute to the development of user manuals and manufacturing documentation. Requirements BS or MS in Electrical Engineering. 10+ years’ experience as an R&D engineer developing power electronics products at voltages up to 480 V. Demonstrated skills using test equipment on high voltage circuits. Experience effectively achieving safety and EMI compliance testing. Proficient with computers running Windows 7. Proficient with MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Able to install and maintain software tools specific to power electronics engineering. Actively instigate and participate in design reviews. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Occasional domestic and foreign travel. Additional Skills that would be Helpful but not Required Ability to do instrumentation programming to automate testing and characterization of the power circuitry. Experience using Altium or similar PCB design tool. Experience with the design and installation of inverters, rectifiers, power conditioners, VFDs, HID lighting, motors, DC-DC converters, renewable energy sources, and off-grid power systems. Knowledge of NEMA and NEC requirements.
