The goal of the conference is to provide Registered Professional Nurses with information on the newer initiatives that are available to oncology patients while presenting information on the role of oncology Social Workers and Case Managers in accessing community resources. Identify the use of neoadjuvant therapy for borderline resectable pancreas cancer and colorectal liver metastases. Discuss the interventional radiologic approaches to treating liver tumors Discuss the novel therapies that are being used to improve the management of CLL. Describe the importance of quality of life in regards to the treatment of noncurative CLL. Identify the updated AJCC 7.0 staging criteria for Lung CA and how these changes affect treatment regimens. Describe and contrast newer methods of diagnosis and surgical staging. Identify the importance of education and skills in the development of the role of an oncology social worker. Discuss the challenges of personal and social sequelae faced by patients and family while undergoing cancer therapy Discuss what homecare services are available and how changes in the health care culture have affected benefits and access to care. Identify the community resources available to the patient.
