WORLD HISTORY SYLLABUS -MISS ELDER- What to expect: Welcome back to school! This year long course will be exploring the beginnings of our world up to the present date. In order to accomplish this large time frame we will be breaking up the world’s existence into nine major eras. Get ready to discover the world, learn from the past and apply what we know to create a better world for tomorrow! As George Santayana once said,”Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Berlin and went to Berlin Brothersvalley until I graduated. From this lovely little town, I went on to continue my education at Penn State University where I graduated in Secondary Education, Social Studies with minors in both Political Science and History. During my senior year, I took advantage of their study abroad program to study in Scandinavia and travel throughout Europe. Upon arriving back in the States, I have held various teaching positions in public, charter and juvenile delinquent schools. I am super excited that this year I get to be back in the town that I love, doing what I love! Materials needed: pencil, notebook, positive attitude Assessment: This is a literature-based course with few major exams.
