Recent technological advances in medicine facilitated the development of
complex biomedical systems including sophisticated medical imaging
equipment and CAD (computer aided diagnosis) tools enabling the better
delivery of health care services. In parallel, computational intelligence,
incorporating neural computing, fuzzy systems, and evolutionary computing
emerged as promising tools for the development, application, and
implementation of intelligent systems. The aim of this special session is to
provide an integrated source for the application of computational intelligent
systems in medical imaging in order to create a Computer Aided Diagnosis
system.
Authors are invited to submit papers covering innovative applications of
medical imaging and computational intelligence in any of the following
physiological systems (but not restricted to):
• Cardiovascular
• Skin
• Skeletal
• Respiratory
• Digestive
• Urinary
• Brain
• Endocrine
• Reproductive
As well as any of the following imaging modalities (but not restricted to):
• Ultrasound
• MRI
• CT
• Xray
• Endoscopy / Laparoscopy
