Similar Triangles - AAA
Corresponding Sides – Proportional
Similar Triangle Situations:
a. If a segment is parallel to one side of a triangle and
Intersects the other 2 sides it creates similar triangles
b. Two triangles are similar if you prove that 2 angles of each
Are congruent to each other.
c. Two right triangles are congruent to each other if one of the
Acute angles of the triangles are congruent.
d. If the altitude is drawn to the hypotenuse of a right triangle
Then:
i. To 2 triangles formed are Similar to the
Original triangle and to each other
ii. The 2 triangles formed are Similar to each
Other.
EXAMPLE:
SPECIAL RIGHT TRIANGLES –
