1. Know how we defined electricity in class.
___ am
___ pm
Electricity was defined as the movement of electrons from one atom to the next.
2. How did we define voltage in terms of electron movement?
Voltage is the force, push or pressure which makes the electrons move.
3. How did we define current in terms of electron movement?
Current is the actual number or amount of electrons that are moving at any given time.
4. How did we define resistance in terms of electron movement?
Resistance is the slowing down or hindrance to the movement of electrons. This is not a bad
thing since resistance results in a transfer of energy to motion, light, heat, sound, etc.
5. How did we define power as it relates to voltage and current?
Power is the product of voltage and current is a measure of how much work can be done in a
given amount of time.
6. What two capital letters do we use to represent voltage in circuit drawings and formulas?
V or E (E comes from Emf which comes from Electromotive Force
7. What capital letter do we use to represent current?
I
8. What capital letter do we use to represent resistance?
