"CENSORSHIP,
Carefully read the manuscript entitled BicolHispana Grammar Lessons,
composed by R. P. Fr. Santos Herrejon, parish priest of the town
of Oas in Albay, which was entrusted to me by V. R. for censorship, I must state
that I consider this little work as a complete work of Art of the
Spanish language explained in. Bicol language, whose book is one of a kind
and can be considered as of absolute necessity so that the Indians of the
province of Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte and Burias can learn
for this Art the Castilian language, whose teaching is sought by the Government
Spanish spread among the natives of these islands. It must therefore, in my opinion,
procure the printing of said manuscript and it would be desirable to
ordered by the Superiority to be declared a text in children's schools
of both sexes in the towns of the aforementioned provinces and islands:

INSTANCE
Exemption. Mr. Governor General: Br. Pedro Moya, Provincial of the Order
of San Francisco, respectfully states: that the R. P. Fr. Santos Herrejon,
religious of this Corporation and Parish Priest of the town of Oas in the province
de Albay wrote a manuscript titled Bicol-Hispanic Grammar Lessons,
whose printing has just been authorized by V. E.
Said book must be useful for the natives of those provinces of the
South Luzon, since it will make it easier for them to learn Spanish, so
which. — A V. E. begs you to declare that it serves as a text in the schools of
the mentioned provinces, because in this way the Castilian language will spread more easily,
as desired and recommended by the Government; grace you expect from
the recognized justification of Your Excellency whose life may God keep many years. Manila

TEXT STATEMENT.
His Excellency, Mr. Governor General, by resolution of this date and in accordance
with the report issued by the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction,
it has been used to declare text for teaching in public schools
from the provinces of Southern Luzon the work entitled BicolHispana Grammar Lessons,
written by R. P. Fr. Santos Herrejon, Parish Priest of the town of
Oas of the province of Albay.
And I communicate it to V. R. for your knowledge and by resolution at your request
of last June 8.

ECCLESIASTICAL APPROVAL.
Manila April 6, 1881. — For those present and for what we
touch, we grant the necessary license so that the manuscript can be printed
entitled Bicol-Hispanic Grammar Lessons, composed by R. P.
Fr, Santos Herrejon Parish priest of the town of Oas in the province of
Albay in attention to the fact that it has been examined, and does not contain, according to the
censorship
anything contrary to Catholic dogma and healthy morals. — Fr. Pedro Archbishop.

CIVIL AUTHORIZATION3
The Hon. Mr. Governor General by decree of last May 27,
has served to grant his representative the R. P. Fr. Santos Herrejon, religious
of that Corporation and Parish Priest of the town of Oas in the province of
Albay, the authorization that he had requested for the printing of the work of his
property called Bicol-Hispanic Grammar Lessons.
What I communicate to V. R. for your knowledge and consequent purposes.
